Seascapes and beyond
The primal power of the elements has always fascinated me, especially on the coast. This is where I was born and call home. The sea is calm, the dunes untouched, with only delicate traces of seabirds in the sand. The next moment, a dark storm gathers over the ocean. The sunlight only briefly breaks through dramatic cloud formations. You can taste the salty spray of the towering waves rolling in the surf. The elements converge on the coast: earth, fire, water, air. Nature is greater than humanity. Showing this with photography in timeless images is my passion.
Wild and poetic
„The Wild One“ is the title of the CD I co-released with EMI Electrola in 1991 as bassist for the rock band „Crossroads.“ „The nostalgic poet“ is how a photo agency employee once described my photographic style. Wild and poetic at once. A style influenced by the rugged landscape of the North Sea, but also by the teachings of the old masters of painting. Fine art photography in full-frame Nikon Z, shot in black and white with a light color touch.
Footprints
I spend as much time as possible in the most beautiful places in the national parks along the North Sea and other coasts. I often ask myself: What kind of footprint do I want to leave? Here on the coast and beyond.
